Getting started
Everything you need to go from the installer to a working agent, in the order you will meet it.
Install
Download the Windows installer and run it. It carries everything it needs; there is nothing else to install. Windows will warn once that the installer is not signed — choose More info → Run anyway.
Pick a provider
The setup wizard offers Agent Cowork (a paid plan), AgentRouter (free to start), OpenRouter, or DeepSeek directly. Paste the matching key. On a paid plan your key is in the dashboard; you can make more than one and revoke any of them at any time.
Choose a project
Open a folder. That is the agent's workspace: it reads, edits and runs commands there and nowhere else. Each folder keeps its own sessions, so you can come back to a conversation weeks later.
Ask
Describe the task. Watch it work: every file it reads, every edit and every command shows up in the transcript as it happens. Files it produces — documents, PDFs, slides, a website — open in the preview panel beside the conversation.
Skills
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md inside. Drop one anywhere on the window to install it; skills written for Claude Code work unchanged. Every install ships with a curated set — Anthropic's frontend-design brief, the superpowers planning and debugging discipline, caveman for terse output, and real-photos for licensed photography. The skills folder is under the app menu.
Browser
Install the Agent Cowork extension for Chrome and pair it from the app. The agent can then open tabs, read pages and act on them in your browser, signed in as you, with every step visible. Nothing is relayed to a browser that has not been paired, and you can revoke the pairing from the extension.
Media
ffmpeg, Whisper and yt-dlp are installed on first launch. Ask it to cut a video, transcribe a recording, or summarise a YouTube talk.
API
Any OpenAI-compatible client can use a paid key at https://api.agentcowork.net/v1. The model ids are cowork-flash, cowork-plus and cowork-pro; which ones your key may use depends on the plan.
Updates and languages
The app checks for updates and installs them quietly; you never download an installer twice. The interface is available in ten languages, including Arabic with a right-to-left layout, from the app menu.
